Preamble

Prattay Pratibandhi Unnayan Sangstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Rajshahi district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 01 January 2003, involving 60 persons with disabilities with support from ADD International Bangladesh. Now, the organization has a total of 180 members; among them are males, 107 and 73. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the bylaws of the organization, there are 50 members in its General Committee, and 9 members are in the Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization strives to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
